PORT HARCOURT— Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, yesterday, dissolved boards of all parastatals and agencies, leaving that of the Rivers State Waste Management Authority and the Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority.
According to a statement by his media aide, Mr Opunabo Nko-Tariah, the governor also promised to complete repair work on Iloabuchi- Eagle high land road in Port Harcourt within the next three weeks.
The governor, yesterday, while inspecting the road, was told by the contractor handling the project that non-payment by previous government delayed work on the road. “I tell you now that by Wednesday, we will give him the money and in three weeks time, he must have completed this road. So, I want all of you to give the contractor the needed support so that he can finish the work within three weeks,” Wike said.
The contractor handling Dr. Peter Odili Woji-Akpajo by-pass, assured that one of the lanes will be completed within the first 100 days of the administration in office. The governor also inspected on-going work at the Faculty of Law building at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.
