Ado Ekiti—Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has vowed to work in synergy with the legislative arm of government for the rapid transformation of the state.

Fayose spoke yesterday while declaring open a three-day retreat for the 26 newly-elected members of the state House of Assembly at Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort, Ikogosi Ekiti
Represented by his Deputy, Kolapo Olusola, he  noted that the retreat became necessary to sharpen the skills of the new legislators in the art of lawmaking, which is their primary assignment in the Assembly.

Fayose, who urged the lawmakers to work with the executive to implement his administration’s six-point Restoration Agenda, congratulated the legislators on their election, saying their assumption of office conferred on them onerous responsibilities to live up to the expectation of the electorate.
The governor noted that apart from lawmaking, the legislators should work hands in hand with members of their constituencies and take the issue of their oversight functions with utmost dispatch.
He informed the lawmakers that many executive bills would be sent to them for passage into laws to aid good governance and welfare of Ekiti people.
