The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 25-man cult group alleged to be members of the Black Axe fraternity during their initiation ceremony.

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Owerri, the Imo State capital, South East Nigeria, the Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Andrew Enwerem, said operatives of the command swung into action after a tip off by some vigilante members of the public of the activities and gathering of the cult group in a remote bush not far from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Imo State.

Mr Enwerem said the command will not relent in its determination to weed the state of all forms of crime and all other related activities.
Items recovered from the suspects include one locally made cut-to-size gun, one live cartridge and expanded cartridges.
