PDP Govs Insist Governorship Elections Held In Akwa Ibom, Rivers States
Peoples Democratic Party governors on Sunday maintained that governorship elections held in Akwa Ibom and Rivers States, noting that they will resist any attempt to take the states through the back door.
According to the governors under the aegis of PDPGF the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that elections held in the two states and that the PDP won was sufficient enough that elections held there.
All Progressives Congress in the two states have since gone to the tribunal contesting the PDP victory.

According to a statement signed by the Coordinator of the PDPGF, Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, INEC, the legally authorized agency that conducts elections, has said that after its investigations that credible elections held in Rivers state.
The statement noted that victory recorded by PDP in Akwa Ibom State ought not to come as a surprise because the immediate past governor performed well.
The statement, also declared that any attempt to take the states through the back door will be stiffly resisted by the PDP.

The forum further took a swipe at  what it called self-acclaimed observer groups for making spurious allegations about the elections to please their sponsors.
The statement also called on the security agencies to rein in those groups, stressing that their utterances were capable of disrupting the peace in the states.
It also decried the boastings of the APC to take both Akwa Ibom and Rivers States through the electoral tribunal, noting that “the only attraction for the APC is what they perceive as the premium revenues of the two states.”
The statement called on the citizens of both states to protect their states from those it described as desperate  political vultures who do not mean well for them
