AFCON 2017 Qualifiers: Ighalo hoping to score against Chad

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has voiced out his ambition of opening his goals account as Nigeria takes​ on​ ​Chad on Saturday in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
Mr. Ighalo is yet to hit the ground running with the Eagles having secured two appearances during the short stint of Daniel Amokachi as coach of the Nigerian team.
Speaking with PREMIUM TIMES in Kaduna, the Watford FC striker who scored 20 goals last season in England said while he is first preoccupied with Nigeria winning he would be happy to score in the game against the little-known Chadians.
“Well, by God​’​s grace I am looking forward to the goals but you can’t compare the game in Europe to that of Africa,” Ighalo said. “It is two different ball game and the players here too are different from the ones in my club. However, I am not giving any excuses. I am going to give my best to see that the team wins and also get my goal for team.”
Ighalo s​aid​ t​he​ spirit in the Super Eagles camp is quite high and they all looking forward to a good outing on Saturday.
“We are really looking forward to Saturday’s game,” he said. “The spirit in camp is very high and I know by God’s grace we will come out victorious.”
The Nigeria/ Chad match will be taking place at the Ahamdu Bello Stadium on Saturday by 4​ ​p​.​m​.​
