Wike assures Rivers children of a new knowledge based society
Rivers State Governor-Elect, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has assured the Rivers State children on the occasion of the 2015 Children’s Day celebrations,
that he would work towards developing a knowledge – based society where their future will be secured.
In a goodwill message to mark the 2015 Children’s Day, Barrister Wike stated that his incoming administration will give serious attention to the provision of quality education for the children of the state.
He said that his administration will build the capacity of Rivers State children by creating an enabling environment where they would learn and become better citizens who will drive the state in future.
The governor-elect said that children are gifts from God who must be nurtured to achieve their full potential.
According to him, his administration will ensure the effective implementation of the Universal Basic Education scheme in the state and also give priority attention to pre – primary and special needs education.
He assured less privileged children in the state that they will have access to functional education in order to have a chance in life.
He added that the children of Rivers State will once again feel the impact of governance aimed at developing a state where all that live in it will prosper.
He advised the children to shun all forms of social vices and focus on their education in order to become responsible contributors to the growth of the state in future.
